Virginia DeRailer Series

Mountain bike racing is alive and well in the state of Virginia. In our sixth year, we are the state’s longest consecutive running mountain bike race series! Every race in the series will offer a unique and challanging blend of racing in Central and Southwest Virginia! Whether you like epic cross country in the mountains, fast & fun jaunts through wooded single track in the park or “gut busting” grunts up a towering mountain, the Virginia DeRailer Mountain Bike Race Series has something to challange both fitness and skill.

We’ve grown! The 2008 series will now have six races and be divided evenly with 3 in the SPRING and 3 in the FALL. Please be sure to check out the information on the individual events pages so you don’t miss out on anything.

Riders of all abilities can race the Series, so beginners, juniors, seniors, anybody…if you have a bike you should race! Bring the whole family out to watch the races or just to enjoy the family friendly surroundings of the various parks and camps where each race is held.

Riders can pre-register for all 6 races for the price of 4 or can register for each race individually. If you want to be series champ the 5 bonus points for riding in all 6 could be the difference between contender or pretender. So, if you’re an expert, racing every weekend or a novice racing in your first race, come out and join us for some mountain bike fun, great after race food and refreshments, and the comradary only mountain bike racing can provide.
We crown series champions in 10 different categories and cash prizes totaling more than $2000 will be awarded! Contact individual organizers concerning race course maps or detailed race information. We will have an online registration link available soon.
The first race is less than a month away and this year’s series promises to be the best yet, you only have a few weeks to take advantage of the early registration cost savings.
